Well we are all here fine sitting out side the vine tree bar nursing our "VERY" bad hangovers!! Great night last night at the panera bar with way way WAY to much to drink! Sad Anyway today is practise day so we are going up to launch in a wile to try a triangle flight so any pictures will be up here later.Yesterday pilots were getting 10 metre climbs to base.

DAY 2,It's bloody windy again so day canned. But the busses are taking people up to free fly,It's blowing well strong so I don't see why it's worth the risk of flying when tomorrow might be a good day! The sky looks wicked so as most of you know strong thermals and wind is asking for a spanking!!
Our lot are off to salamanca to look around the shop's.

Day 3 Task 1,A 100.2km race to goal was set with take off D01190 and the start was a 63km radius around A26092.Race start was 13:45.TP1 was A26092 with a 400m cylinder around it then to goal at A22091 Here we had a speed section that stopped at 2km out and the goal was 1 km out.I took an ok'ish!!! start but was fairly well back so i was a little pee'ed off as 5 mins before I was well high with johnny chambers and alex coltman.Anyway we got going and at the pass us three all climbed out very nicley and went on a glide through the pass where myself and marra met up and took a 10m climb to 10,000.I decided to try and use this fast hight gain to try and catch up with the lead gaggle,This worked real well as I passed 3 thermals to meet up with steve nash / craig morgan and sat just behind wagga watt's and mali,Here we were very high so went for the next move flying left of track as the sky seemed good this way! "NOT" Wagga went down and I lost mali so this left myself out front with steve nash and craig,I looked down to see John chambers "VERY LOW" and in the end he landed right there which was a big shame as he was flying so well.Anyway the few of us there took a crap and very slow climb and before we knew it 10 others came in and we minssed around for what seemed age's! I made my mistake here and decided to go for it and felt sure I would find a better climb down track! "WRONG MOVE" I did not find a bloody dickie bird and landed 9km from TP1,Steve drifted over me from what looked like a mile up but as it was he only flew 2km further! In my attemp to find a low save I flew into the boonies and this made my walk out a 1:30 shlep "NICE",Anyway 30 made goal so a very well done and flown to all of them,One chap I think dutch got sucked into the clouds and was shouting like a mad man to calvo "I'M AT 4,000M AND CAN NOT SEE ANYTHING AND I'M FREEZING" CALVE CALMLY TALKED TO HIM BUT HEAH WHAT CAN CALVO DO I THOUGHT TO MYSELF! Anyway 20 mins later this chap came back on the radio and asked if the task was still running? When mr calm calvo replied "YES" the chap said "O GOOD I CAN SEE THE GROUND AGAIN AND IM OK SO I WILL TRY AGAIN" Ha-ha what a dude.I ended up 4th brit in serial even though i f--ed up so Im still happy with my day.Our very own marky hayman came in second to winner cecilo from spain.CLICK ON LINK TO LOOK AT JUST A FEW OF MY PIC'S.

Day 4 Task 2,A 127km race to goal was set today from D01190 Launch with a start cyliner around A26096 of 63km.Tp1 was then needed to be tacken at the normal 400m cylinder then onto goal A23084 with a speed section of 2 km and a goal of 1 km.The day was slow to start with and before we even got to the pass we all minsed around in slow bits of lift,After a wile it got better and some of us broke away into good climbs and flew over the pass with very good height,Just after the pass myself and john chambers took a solid 5m climb to around 10,000 and pushed on to try and catch the front runners. To be honest I don't remember to much else as I was just enjoying it all so much,John elison/john chambers/me/kai/steve ethrington/craig morgan/wagga watts/adrian thomas and others!! sorry don't remeber all of them all skerted the clouds as you will see in the pic's and it was fantastic flying from start to finish really,Kai took a gamble and flew off on his own direction and it very nearly worked out for him only just being beaten by craig and wagga,I got lost a bit on a climb and before I knew it I was on my own and getting very low just 15km from goal!! O shit I thought here we go again and this time I would have been in a right friggin mood if I landed short for the second day! I found a slow .9 climb so stayed with that until down the track towards goal I spotted 3 birds going up at a rate of knots! So I went for it and almost straight away started going up at 3 and 4ms and by the time I glided into goal I was around 8,000 or more feet above!!! Hahaha Very Happy John chambers was first in goal in the serial class flying a Niviuk peak and I was 2nd flying a Aircross usport,Sherwingggggggggggggggg.Click the link for pics.

Well I'm a plonker of the first! I bloody blew it today,All was going so well and I got myself out front with craig/mark h/cicelio etc etc and before I knew it myself and mark were sitting on our own under a cloud that just did not work!! When we turned back to re-meet the gaggle it was to late we were on the slipery way down!! F--CK! Mark turned and flew over the big lake to see if that cloud would work but found nothing so landed at the side of the lake stripped off like only mark would and went for a skinny dip!! hahah,I found a climb just at the front side of the lake and flew on another 10km or so to just about get the TP1 and landed there with marcel "FR4"
Well done to all the pilots that made goel i'm not sure how many yet but it's time for me to go and get F--ing waisted on booze cos i'm just a little pissed off! hahha.Windy tomorrow so we here so Im going all gun's blazing on sat last task.WISH ME LUCK!

Cheers for the reports Mark, it's all really good stuff. Sounds like you have done some brilliant flying but made a couple of costly mistakes ... typical comp ups 'n' downs ... but at least it sounds like you are having loadsa fun anyway ... and that's what it's all about eh? Smile

Good luck for the rest of the comp! And keep the great reports coming ...

Cheers,

Andy
