Avian / AIR Day - Sat 20th & Sun 21st June
----------------------------------------------------------

SImilar to the successful get-together at the end of February, Steve Elkins (& AIR) are proposing another Hangie day to try out various wings on Sat 20th & Sun 21st June

This time we will have the 22:1 Atos VR+
smile emoticon

There can be other AIR gliders on request, and Steve plans to bring an Evo and a FLY, and possibly a Puma, although roof space is limited so what turns up will match demand.

Please let me know:

* If you are interested in coming along (flying a demo isn't mandatory)
* If you would like to fly either a Flex or Rigid, and what glider model
your interest is

The provisional plan, similar to before, is:

Steve & AIR will liase during the 5 days before, checking
the forecasts, and broadcasting whether its a "go or no-go"

The base will probably be Wiltshire

This time we'll have a whiteboard system to match pilots/gliders
so we know whats going on

We'll converge on an appropriate site - tentative list in further below

Let me know.........

Cheers, Nev

Avian / AIR day, June 20th/21st (this coming weekend)

The forecast is looking promising, so the plan is that it'll happen.

Gliders coming from Germany will be:

The 22:1 VR+

A VQ with (in addition to flaps) airbrakes, giving a 3:1 glide angle

A VRS for the smaller/lighter pilot

Updates will be posted as the week progresses, but it looks like the preferred site will be Westbury (south of Swindon/Bath) which offers good soaring with excellent takeoff and landing areas.

Thoughts on the newer wings for those of us not able to get there?

So?... this festive event has come and gone? Somebody got to fly Felix's new Zuper wing? Any thoughts or opinions?

Amazing no one has posted any sort of review.

I think they put something up on British Hangies on Facebook, a significant number seem to think Facebook is the limit of the Internet now.

What's Facebook? ;-) Is it something to do with bleating sheep wandering mindlessly detached from the real world, basking in artificial glow and warmth of their "smart phones" while fending off real conversations with the person standing right beside them? Sad really, I've watched these poor creatures curl up into the fetal position and go into convulsions when they drop the signal from their new found god's..... like in the wilds of America where even the might god AT&T cannot reach them ....all they can see on their precious devices is...... "no service"....

I will see if I can get some Euro rigid pilot to post over on the rigid forum.

Cheers
