About Us

Mark Leavesley started model flying at the age of 7. He has flown in many jet and helicopter competitions all his life, coming second at the World Jet Masters in Austria in 1999. He started hangliding in 1989 at the Peak school of hangliding with Paul Willis and Allen Hethrington, both are fantastic instructors. After a year he started to learn to paraglide. Since then he has clocked up hundreds of hours flying many different paragliders.

In 2003 Mark started XC flying with Kai Coleman, James Davidson, JFK, Neil Roberts and Jay Evans, learning a lot from James and Kai, being told to slow down "mainly" but they have both helped in many ways. In the first 2 years of Leavesley Aviation he has met many new friends, customers and dealers, and he would like to thank them all for their custom and for the dealers willing to deal with him. Especially Mark and Patrick from UK Airsports who were the very first business to start him off in the world of paragliding.

This picture was taken at the 2006 british nationals in Ager, Spain. Mark was picking up 2nd place for serial class paraglider. Since 2005 Mark started Leavesley Aviation jet centre and its getting bigger and bigger by the week. Mark is back flying at all the air shows around England and in 2008 will be making a come back to the U.S and traveling to some events around Europe again.

Mark with the 2007 BLERIOT CUP won by team Great Britian. Pilots: MARK HAYMAN / MARK LEAVESLEY / INNIS POWELL / JOHN ELLISON / STEVE NASH / RICHARD BUNGAY / JON CHAMBERS / THE BOSS: CALVO. This is the fourth time team Great Britain have won it on the trot. The pilots to the right are the BRITISH HANGLIDING TEAM, they were a massive part of the win too, we all worked as a team and kicked ass!

Our cottage and the fields surrounding us in the Shropshire hill side, the two big fields behind our cottage are where we paraglide and fly our slope gliders. Flights of over 5,000 foot have been made from these fields on our paraglider.
